Print-on-demand books are physical books printed one at a time, then shipped from the printing plant in Pennsylvania to the customer. This site features Record Research titles that were once available at our main site, www.recordresearch.com, in their initial bulk printings, until they sold out. Print-on-demand books are only available at this site and remain out of stock at www.recordresearch.com. Your account at the latter site is not linked to this site. You must create a new account to order. Once your place your print-on-demand book order, your order is placed in a print queue and typically takes five to seven week days (not including holidays) to print. It then enters the shipping queue of two to three week days until it is sent.
We are pausing sales of our eBooks for now. If you previously purchased Online or PDF versions of Record Research eBooks, you can still find these by logging into "My account" then clicking on "eLibrary."
Online eBooks are immediately available by clicking on "Read now."
PDF eBooks are downloaded on to your device (up to six authorized devices allowed). Your PDF eBook is linked to your Adobe account as Adobe Digital Editions (ADE) is needed to read your PDF eBook. If redownloading your PDF eBook, make sure you have ADE authorized on your device (NOT Adobe Reader) and that your ADE is aligned to your Adobe account (username and password) implemented when you initially purchased your Record Research PDF eBook. If not, you will receive an error when attempting to redownload. In that case, please contact web@recordresearch.com and inform us of the exact error, so we can reset your eBook.
No. You must create an account on this site to purchase print-on-demand books. The purchase histories of both accounts are not linked. You may use the same username and password for both accounts, for ease of memory.
Click on the "Log in" link on the top right of the home page to get to the login screen. Type your credentials into the "Username" and "Password" fields and click the "Log in" button to access your account.

The online eBook makes your online reading experience effortless through our various navigation features. You can use them to skim, search, and jump around your eBook.

Scroll bar
On the bottom of your eBook, a scroll bar has been added to allow navigation through the book by simply dragging the cursor to your designated page.
Sections
When viewing your eBook, you'll see one section of the text at a time. The sections are often broken into chapters, but it depends on the eBook's formatting.
To view an entire section, scroll up and down with a mouse or arrow key.
The online eBook offers a few ways to navigate between sections.
- To move from one section to the next, select the left and right arrow icons found on the bottom right-hand corner.
- Select the "Contents" button (found in the upper left-hand corner). Next, select the section or sub-section you'd like to read.
Page numbers
To jump to a page, enter the number in the page search bar in the bottom right-hand corner of the page and select "Go".
Search tool
If you need to find specific text in your eBook, select the search icon in the top right-hand corner. Type in the term or phrase into the search bar that appears. The search results will generate, organized by section.
Select the arrow to view the term or phrase in the eBook's content.
Bookmarks
Creating a bookmark
To add a bookmark to your current location in your eBook, select the bookmark icon in the bottom left-hand corner.
When you do, a blue bookmark appears to the right of the text to mark your location.
Want to delete your bookmark? Select the blue bookmark icon again.
Reviewing your bookmarks
Our online eBook not only lets you create bookmarks but also organizes them for easy access.
To find all of your bookmarks, select the icon to the left of the three dots in the upper right-hand corner. Previews of the text from the bookmarked sections are organized by chapter. Skim your bookmarks by scrolling or pressing tab.
Select the trash can icon to remove your bookmark.
To jump to a bookmarked section, select the text in the bookmark preview.
Highlighting text allows you to take an active role as a learner. Here is how to do it in the online eBook:
- If you are on a computer, click and drag your cursor to select the text you wish to highlight. If you are using a phone or tablet, press and hold with your finger, then drag.
- Release the cursor/your finger to pull up a menu box.
- Select one of the two colors (yellow or green) from the menu box.
Once you've selected a color, the text will appear in that color inline in the document area.
You can delete a highlight by clicking on the highlighted text and clicking on the X.
Note-taking
Creating notes in the online eBook is like creating highlights.
- If you are on a computer, click and drag your cursor to select the text you wish to annotate. If you are using a phone or tablet, press and hold with your finger and then drag.
- Release the cursor/your finger to pull up the menu box.
- Click "Add Note".
- Select a color and type your notes in the text box which appears on the right side of the page.
- Click the blue checkmark.
Please note: Your notes can also be found throughout the eReader on the right-hand side of the desired annotation
Review your notes and highlights
To review a specific note or highlight:
- Click the icon to the left of the three dots in the top right corner of your window.
- Select "Annotations".
- You can scroll to look through your notes in the order you created them.
- You can also export your notes and highlights.
Click on a note to jump to the text it references.
Many users find our Text-To-Speech (TTS) quite helpful as another way to ingest reading material.
To access this feature, click the Ellipsis in the top right and select "Read aloud". Select the settings icon to adjust speed, voice, and content settings.
Audio controls
Use the "Play"/"Pause" buttons to start and stop the Text-To-Speech at any time or jump forward or backward 10 words with the circular arrow keys.
Voice and rate controls
You have the ability to change both the voice and the rate to truly cater the experience to your specific needs.
Read aloud from here
If you'd rather start reading in the middle of the page, you can use the "Read Aloud from Here" feature. Select the text in the book where you would like to start reading and click "Read Aloud from Here". Our Text-to-Speech software will launch the Text-to-Speech controls and handle the rest.
Our online reader offers a printing function where users can select a page range to print. The percentage of the eBook that is available to print is 20%.
How to print
Navigate to the upper right-hand portion of your screen and select the Ellipsis, then select "Print".
Choose the page range for your print job, then select "Print".
A pop-up window will display showing the progress.
Click "Print Now" to print to a PDF, then follow the prompts to save the PDF.
You will need to download an app to read your eBook offline. You can download the app on any device with internet access.

Once you have the app downloaded, you can open the eBook from your eLibrary to create an account and initiate offline access.
First you need to set up a user account with VitalSource.
- Log into your account and click My Account, then My eLibrary.
- Click Read online.
- Click the Ellipsis (three horizontal dots) in the upper right-hand corner.
- Click My account.
- Click Manage devices.
- Enter the same email address you used to place your order.
- Click Continue.
- Select Other as the role.
- Enter first name, last name, and password.
- Click Create an account.
- You will receive an email to activate your account. Click Verify Email.
Access Offline from your desktop
- Open the VitalSource desktop app.
- Enter email address.
- Enter password.
- Click Sign In.
- Click My Library.
- Click on the eBook you would like to read to download to the app.
Access Offline from an iOS or Android device.
- From another device like a computer, log into your account and click My Account, then My eLibrary.
- Click Read online.
- Click the Ellipsis (three horizontal dots) dots in the upper right-hand corner.
- Click My account.
- Click Quick Mobile Sign In.
- Scan the QR code from your mobile device.
- Your eBook will open in the mobile app.
Flashcards are a great way to personalize your studying experience.
Creating flashcards
Making a flashcard follows the same process as highlighting.
To create a flashcard:
- Click and drag your cursor over the text to highlight it.
- Select "Create Flashcard" from the pop-up.
- You can add flashcards to a deck by selecting a deck from the dropdown menu within the task box or create a new deck.
- The front side of the card includes your highlighted text.
- Type in a note for the back side and select "Save".
Studying flashcards
Once you've created your flashcards, our eReader lets you organize them in different ways.
To view your flashcards:
- Select the icon with a star in the upper right corner.
- Select a deck. (Flashcards are organized by eBook sections or by the decks you've created).
- The interface displays the front side of the flashcard. To view the back side text, click the card.
PDF eBook format
Yes, you can view your eBook on up to six authorized devices.
First, open Adobe Digital Editions (ADE) on your old computer and de-authorize it by hitting Ctrl+Shift+D.
Next, install ADE on your new computer and authorize it from the ADE menu.
This error occurs when you have multiple Adobe accounts and you try to open your eBook from an account other than the one with which you purchased your eBook. To remedy, log into the Adobe account from which you initially purchased your eBook, prior to opening your eBook.
eBooks sold by Record Research are copy-protected and must be downloaded and read using Adobe Digital Editions or software that is compatible with Adobe DRM. AdobeĀ® Digital Editions software offers an engaging way to view and manage eBooks and other digital publications. Use it to download and purchase digital content, which can be read both online and offline. You must register your Adobe Digital Editions account in order to read our DRM protected content. The eBook file that you purchased is protected with Digital Rights Management (DRM). Files protected with DRM must be downloaded and read using Adobe Digital Editions or a software that is compatible with Adobe DRM. The ACSM file is a key to open your eBook using this software.
These files have the following restrictions to prevent the content from being posted or shared:
- The provided link may be used on 6 different devices at different times. This link is accessible from the original email.
- Access may be restricted to use by a single consumer with authentication through an Adobe ID.
- The downloaded file may not be transferred to a different device.
- The eBook may not be shared with another user.
- The eBook file may not be copied.

Once you download Adobe Digital Editions to your device, you will be prompted to open the eBook using that program. Adobe Digital Editions can be downloaded for free here. You will need to set up an Adobe ID and authorize your device before trying to download the file.
